The Redskins Blog enjoys championing local sports artists, who in turn enjoy championing local sports stars with their portraits.
Scott Dorsey, made aware to us by Silas Redd Jr., who retweeted a painting Dorsey was finishing (above), lives outside of Baltimore, Md., and has fielded dozens of requests to paint Ravens and Redskins players.
He's also done work for many other NFL players, often juxtaposing their college jersey with their professional one, as he did for tight end Jordan Reed (seen above).
On his About page, Dorsey writes that most of his paintings are oil-based and are pretty large, usually 46x38 in size.
He does commissions for any player, too.
Here's several of his Redskins pieces (past and present), including, of course, Sean Taylor.
