Nine years into his NFL career, wide receiver Pierre Garçon is still going strong and putting up big numbers for the Redskins.

Not bad for a man that was taken with the 205th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.  

Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke recently came up with his "All Sixth-Round Team," which consists of the best players taken in the sixth-round between 2000-2016. Burke chose two wide receivers for his team and Garçon was one of them.

This is what Burke had to say about Garçon and why he made the team:

"At least a handful of the sixth-round WRs drafted between 2000-16 are semi-household names, like Brandon Gibson, Joe Webb and Quincy Enunwa," Burke said. "David Tyree also was a sixth-rounder (2003), so he deserves at least a line mentioned here. Garçon, although he has yet to be rewarded with a Pro Bowl trip, has put together a career more illustrious than any of those players. He just posted 79 receptions for 1,041 yards this season, at age 30, his second-best year behind only 2013 (113 receptions, 1,346 yards). Garçon finished his four years as a Colt with 2,500-plus yards and he now has topped 4,500 in Washington."

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins had myriad weapons at his disposal during the 2016 season, but whenever the rubber met the road, Cousins looked to Garçon for help, and more often than not, Garçon was there to save the day.

"I think there was a standard of excellence there that he [Garçon] knows no other way to do it," Cousins said. "He's always done it at that high level, but he's a very explosive athlete, so there's also some natural ability there that you can't coach that when he does run his routes, he gets in and out of cuts in a very powerful, explosive way that is unique to him."

"Pound for pound he could be the most powerful, explosive guy on the team with the athleticism that he has," Cousins added.
