Silas Redd Jr. sure does have a passion for fashion.
Redd, who has recently taken to Instagram to show off his personal vintage clothes collection, is switching gears this time. Instead of gathering apparel for himself, he is hosting a charity event in his home state of Connecticut for those in need.
The inaugural event, dubbed "Silas Redd Threads for the City, Clothing Drive and Swap" will be held in just a few short weeks at the George Washington Carver Community Center is Norwalk, Conn.
He plans to collect new and gently used clothing and allow others to come and take whatever they need from the selection on April 2nd.
Clearly excited about giving back to his community, Redd shared information about the event on Instagram and then again on Twitter.
"Words can't express how happy I am that this is finally in motion. Love my city and love my state! Everyone in the 203, 860, 914 and the whole Tri State come show love to my 1st annual clothing drive and swap for the city! You can donate clothing or anyone that is less fortunate can come pick up items for FREE! Much love and PEACE!"
Good work, Silas!
