On Sept. 20, 2003, Shaquille O'Neal, still near the height of his career, hosted Shaqtacular VIII, his annual benefit that supported mentoring and education programs and services for 25,000 youth each year.

Helping host the event were a Backstreet Boy, Boys II Men, Jessica Simpson, George Lopez and Method Man, O'Neal's eventual collaborator on their rap song “No Hooks.” Quite a diverse crowd.

If you notice (how can you not?), Method Man is decked out in Redskins gear, specifically in a burgundy Laveranues Coles jersey and Redskins cap. That was right as the season was beginning, and Coles had just come to Washington from the Jets.

Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith,  is best known as a member of the East Coast hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. He's also had a decent run in the movies on and television. He's appeared in "Garden State," "Red Tails," "CSI" and even had a cameo in last year's "Trainwreck."

He grew up in Staten Island, and so there's a good chance he's just a big fan of Coles, who began his career with New York and then eventually went back to the Meadowlands two years later when the Redskins traded for Santana Moss.

Still, he at least went out of his way to buy a Redskins hat to match the ensemble. It's all about the presentation.
