October 2nd, 1932—Boston Braves vs. Brooklyn Dodgers. The first game in franchise history.

On July 9th of that year, the franchise that would later become the Washington Redskins was born.

After securing a field, a roster of hungry rookies and seasoned veterans and tapped Lud Wray to be head coach, all they needed was an opponent.

While the Braves lost to the Dodgers 14-0, it was the first game onf many in the franchise's history. The Braves would finish their first season with a 4-4-2 record. The team would later move to Washington in 1937 and win an NFL Championship in their first season in a new city.

The team is celebrating it's 85th anniversary this year. You can share your story of Redskins fandom here
