Redskins defensive backs are putting in their work.
A week after cornerback [David Amerson showed off his quick feet in some drills, new safety Jeron Johnson posted a similar video, running and backpedaling through some hurdles.
At last week's NFL Annual Meetings, head coach Jay Gruden said he believes Johnson has a lot of promise in the secondary, even with the limited exposure he attained with the Seahawks. So far, it seems Johnson is making sure he'll be at his best for the start of training camp.
"He was playing behind two pretty good players, and had the opportunity to play against the Giants last year — started," Gruden said of Johnson. "We watched that game very closely, and he did a good job. You know, he can play in the box, he covers some ground, and I think he's an interesting prospect, really. He's young, he played great on special teams, and he's another one that really is excited about the opportunity to get a chance to play. He's had limited opportunities because of Kam [Chancellor] and the safeties they have there (in Seattle) — Earl [Thomas] — but I think he's got the ability to play in the box, and, I think, can cover some ground."
