Trent Murphy came back to Redskins Park last week with a few extra pounds of muscle on his young frame.
After getting his footing on the NFL pace last season as a starter for eight games, the Stanford product focused his offseason efforts on bulking up while also making sure his body can withstand months of football.
"Two goals for me were to get more explosive off the ball and to get stronger, especially my legs," he told Larry Michael, Voice of the Redskins. "I accomplished both of those goals. I know deadlifting, by the time I left I was 550 [pounds] for six reps or eight reps. I was doing get-offs twice a week and working with some Olympic sprint coaches. So, I had a lot of positive work."
Also, be sure to sign up for the Redskins' Draft Day Dash set to take place this weekend before the annual Draft Day Party.
The race – which is of the 5K variety – allows participants the opportunity to see FedExField from a whole new look.
All runners will receive an official Draft Day Dash t-shirt and be automatically entered to win great Redskins prizes.
