The race for the NFC East will be squarely in the national spotlight Saturday night, as the Washington Redskins face the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:25 p.m.

The situation is simple for the Redskins: Win and they're in. Following last week's 35-25 victory against the Buffalo Bills, the Redskins stand alone in first place in the NFC East with a 7-7 record this season. A win on Saturday would clinch the team's 15th division title in franchise history. It would also mark the second "worst-to-first" turnaround in team history (2012).

While the immediate rewards for a victory are front and center, a win this week would also come with some important historical context. The Redskins' all-time record including postseason play currently stands at 599-583-27. With their next win, the Redskins can become the fifth franchise in NFL history to record 600 wins all-time, joining the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.

THE OPPONENTThe Philadelphia Eagles enter Week 16 with a 6-8 record after losing to the Arizona Cardinals, 40-17, last week. Last year, the Eagles finished second in the NFC East with a 10-6 record. This season is the  team's third under head coach Chip Kelly.

Quarterback Sam Bradford leads the team in passing in his first year with the team after being acquired via trade in the offseason. Bradford has completed 279-of-438 passes for 3,025 yards with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Running back DeMarco Murray is the team's leading rusher in his first season with the team. Murray has recorded a team-high 176 carries for 606 yards (3.4 avg.) with four rushing touchdowns. Running back Ryan Mathews has also contributed on the ground, recording 98 carries for 523 yards with a team-high five rushing touchdowns.

Second-year wide receiver Jordan Matthews leads the Eagles' receiving corps in receptions (72), receiving yards (839) and  touchdown receptions (five). Tight end Zach Ertz has added 579 yards on 53 receptions.

Safety Walter Thurmond III leads Philadelphia with three interceptions in addition to his 70 total tackles (51 solo). Safety Malcolm Jenkins leads the team with 89 total tackles (73 solo) through 14 games. Defensive end Fletcher Cox has posted a team-high 7.5 sacks among his 56 total tackles (39 solo) this season.

The Eagles signed kicker Caleb Sturgis prior to Week 4 and he has converted 17-of-21 field goals and 27-of-29 extra points. Veteran punter Donnie Jones has handled all punting duties and has averaged 47.5 yards on 76 punts.

Running back Darren Sproles has handled punt return duties for the Eagles and has returned 36 punts for 446 yards (12.4 avg.) including two returned for touchdowns. Wide receiver Josh Huff has handled kickoff return duties most of the season and has recorded 18 returns for 418 yards (23.2 avg.).

WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEK• The Redskins winning their 600th game in team history, including postseason play. Washington would be the fifth NFL franchise to reach the 600-win mark (Bears, Packers, Giants and Steelers).
