The Washington Redskins will host the New York Giants on Thanksgiving night in Week 12. Kickoff at FedExField is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.

Thursday night's game will be the Redskins' 1,239th combined regular season or postseason game and the 171st all-time installment of the Redskins-Giants rivalry, and yet, the contest will feature a first in Redskins history. Thursday night's contest represents the first time in the team's 85-plus-year history that the team will host a home game on Thanksgiving.

The Redskins have appeared in nine previous Thanksgiving Day games, with all nine contested on the road in either Detroit or Dallas. Including a Thanksgiving contest in Dallas last season, the 2016-17 seasons will mark the first time the Redskins have played on Thanksgiving Day in consecutive years since 1973-74.

Quarterback Trent Williams has thrown for at least 300 yards in each of the team's last two games. A third consecutive 300-yard game would tie a team record he (2015) shares with Robert Griffin III (2013).

**THE OPPONENT

**

The New York Giants enter Week 12 of the regular season in fourth place in the NFC East with a 2-8 record in 2017. This season is the team's second under the purview of Head Coach Ben McAdoo.

Eli Manning is the team's starter at quarterback in his 14th NFL season. This season, he has completed 234-of- 368 passes (63.6 percent) for 2,298 yards with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. Manning's 234 completions rank third in the NFL.

Running back Orleans Darkwa leads the Giants in rushing this year, having posted 489 rushing yards on 101 carries with two rushing touchdowns. Wayne Gallman has also added 223 rushing yards on 54 carries.

Tight end Evan Engram leads the team the team in receptions (41) and receiving touchdowns (five). Wide receiver Sterling Shepard leads the team in receiving yards (475) and has 38 receptions and one receiving touchdown. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ranks third on the team with 302 receiving yards despite having played in only four contests this season.

Safety Landon Collins has posted a team-high 69 tackles (49 solo). Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul leads New York with 4.5 sacks, while cornerback Janoris Jenkins and Collins are tied for the team lead in interceptions (two).

Aldrick Rosas handles kicking duties for the Giants, while Brad Wing handles the punting responsibilities. Rosas is 12-of-17 (70.6 percent) on field goal attempts this season. He is also 14-of-15 on PATs. Wing is averaging 45.0 yards per punt.

Dwayne Harris has been the team's primary punt returner and kick returner in 2017. Harris has averaged 6.9 yards on seven punt returns and 20.9 yards on nine kick returns.
