The Washington Commanders have signed defensive end T.J. Maguranyanga to their active roster.
Maguranyanga is a member of the NFL's International Player Pathway program (IPP), which was established in 2017 to identify talented international athletes an provide them with opportunities to develop their skills in American football. Maguranyanga was named as one of 13 players in the Class of 2025 last December.
Maguranyanga, born in Harare, Zimbabwe, is a professional rugby player who most recently played for ASM Clermont Auvergne in the French Top 14, a French rugby union league. He previously played for the Golden Lions in the Under-18 Craven Week from 2015-21. He was selected as a captain of the Golden Knights in 2020.
Earlier in his career, Maguranyanga played in the Under-16 Grant Khomo. He also represented his country on the Under-18 Sevens side at the Capricorn Group International Junior Sevens Tournament
