The Washington Redskins and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) announced today owner Daniel M. Snyder and his wife, Mrs. Tanya Snyder, will be honored with the Charles B. Wang International Children's Award at the NCMEC annual Hope Awards Dinner on Tuesday, May 6 at The Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C.
The Hope Awards Dinner is an annual celebration honoring individuals, celebrities, media and public figures whose efforts have made the world a safer place for children.
The Snyders have been long-time supporters of NCMEC, providing financial support for the construction of the Daniel M. Snyder and Family Communications Center at NCMEC's headquarters in Alexandria, Va.
"Dan and Tanya Snyder's support of such a key part of the center's success – our 24/7 Call Center – demonstrates a true commitment to the safety of our nation's most precious resource – our children," said NCMEC co-founder and long-time "America's Most Wanted" host John Walsh.
"We are very humbled to be named as recipients of this Award, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the National Center," Snyder said. "Their work is astounding, and, as parents, we want to help make sure all families who are faced with these issues have access to the vital support the National Center provides."
NCMEC is a nonprofit organization, established in 1984 and designated by Congress to serve as the nation's clearinghouse on issues related to missing and sexually exploited children.
