The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent wide receiver Andre Roberts.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Roberts (5-11, 195) was originally selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round (88th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.
In four seasons with the Cardinals from 2010-13, he appeared in 62 games with 35 starts, compiling 182 receptions for 2,123 receiving yards (11.7 avg.) with 11 receiving touchdowns.
In 2012, Roberts posted career highs in nearly every statistical category, producing personal bests in receptions (64), receiving yards (759) and receiving touchdowns (five).
His five receiving touchdowns were a team high, and his totals fell only seven receptions and 39 receiving yards shy of matching Larry Fitzgerald's team lead despite playing one fewer game.
Roberts played collegiately at The Citadel from 2006-09, starting 35 of the 45 games in which he appeared during his career.
During his career, he established school records for career receptions (285), receiving yards (3,743), receiving TDs (37), 100-yard receiving games (17), punt return yards (1,160), punt return average (13.9) and all-purpose yards (5,215).
Roberts, 26, attended Spring Valley H.S. in Columbia, S.C., where he earned all-region and all-area honors and led the Vikings to a regional championship as a senior. He was born on Jan. 9, 1988.
