Team:

• The Washington Redskins fell to the New York Giants, 45-14, in front of an announced crowd of 80,573 people at FedExField on Thursday.
• The Redskins played on a Thursday for the 15th time in team history and hosted a Thursday game for the first time since Dec. 6, 2007.
• The Redskins' touchdown drives covered 80 and 83 yards, respectively. The Redskins have six scoring drives of 80 yards or more in their last two games.
• The Redskins extended their NFL-best sellout streak to 387 games, including postseason play.
• The Redskins and Giants faced one another for the 165th time. The Giants are the Redskins' most common opponent.

Offense:

• Running back Alfred Morris gained 63 yards on 12 carries. With the performance, Morris passed Ladell Betts (3,176) for ninth-most rushing yardage in franchise history (3,204).

In the third quarter, Morris scored his third rushing touchdown of the season on a 20-yard run. The rushing touchdown was the 23rd of Morris' career, tying him with Cliff Battles for eighth in franchise history. * Morris also added three receptions for 27 receiving yards, including a career-long 26-yard reception in the third quarter. Morris matched his previous career high in receptions (three) and receiving yards (27), set previously against the Giants on Dec. 1, 2013. * Running back Roy Helu, Jr. led the Redskins in receptions (five) and receiving yards (78). It marked the first time a running back led the Redskins in receiving yards since Helu, Jr. did so in Week 17 of the 2011 season at Philadelphia. * Helu, Jr. recorded a 36-yard reception in the third quarter. Including a 55-yard reception at Philadelphia last week, Helu, Jr. recorded receptions of 30-plus yards in consecutive games for the first time in his career. * In the second quarter, quarterback Kirk Cousins connected with wide receiver Andre Roberts for an 18-yard touchdown pass. * The touchdown reception was the 12th of Roberts' career and his first as a member of the Redskins. * The touchdown pass was the 14th of Cousins' career and his sixth of the season. * Tight end Niles Paul recorded three receptions for 60 yards before exiting the game with an injury. He became the first Redskins tight end to record at least 60 receiving yards in four consecutive games since Chris Cooley in Weeks 11-14 of the 2007 season. * Guard Josh LeRibeus earned his first career start.

Defense:

• Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan recorded his league-leading fifth sack of the season, dropping Giants quarterback Eli Manning for a five-yard loss in the second quarter.
• The sack moved Kerrigan past Bruce Smith (29.0) into eighth on the Redskins all-time sack list (29.5).
• Linebacker Keenan Robinson recorded his first career interception in the third quarter, picking off Manning in the end zone.
• Robinson also added a career-high 13 tackles.
• Safety Ryan Clark recorded a career-high 14 tackles, surpassing his previous career high of 13 tackles, set vs. Tennessee on Sept. 8, 2013.
• Safety Brandon Meriweather* *recorded a career-high 13 tackles. His previous career high was 11, set vs. the New York Jets on Nov. 13, 2008.

Special Teams:

• Punter Tress Way averaged a career-high 58.3 yards per punt on four punts, falling 1.1 yards shy of matching Pro Football Hall of Famer Sammy Baugh's team record for punting average in a single game (59.4 at Detroit on Oct. 27, 1940).
• Way's 58.3-yard punting average and 55.5-yard net punting average were both the most by an NFL punter this season.
• Way recorded a career-long 77-yard punt in the third quarter, tying Steve Cox for the third-longest punt in franchise history (Nov. 1, 1987 at Buffalo).
• Way became the first Redskins punter since Matt Turk to record a punt of 60 yards or more in four games in a single season. Turk recorded a 60-yard punt in five games during the 1998 season. .
