LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent linebacker Terence Garvin. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Garvin (6-3, 221) originally entered the league with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a college free agent on May 6, 2013. In three seasons with Pittsburgh from 2013-15, he appeared in 43 regular season games with one start. His 33 special teams tackles (26 solo) in that time frame led all members of the Steelers.
Garvin played collegiately at West Virginia, where he appeared in 47 games with 37 starts for the Mountaineers from 2009-12. He finished his collegiate career with 235 tackles, 11 passes defensed, 10.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and four fumbles recovered.
Garvin, 25, attended Loyola Blakefield H.S. in Baltimore, where earned all-state honors at defensive back. He was born Jan. 1, 1991.
