Washington Redskins defensive lineman Anthony Lanier II was on a roll entering Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, as he had registered three sacks in the team's previous four games.
But on Sunday afternoon, Lanier had the best game of his career to date, as he registered two sacks along with a forced fumble. He also recorded three passes defensed.
For his efforts, the 24-year-old has been named this week's Kia MVP of the Game.
"It was great to hear Anthony Lanier's name over the intercom a few times and see how far he has come along from a young rookie free agent," said Redskins head coach Jay Gruden. "He is getting better and better. The sky is the limit for him."
